They say that necessity is the mother of invention. However, some inventors invent things for which there is no need.
Sometimes they make something that is perfectly useless but quite clever, like a watch that goes backwards. They have done the same sort of thing with bathroom accessories.
Tilt a roll
According to the inventors of this accessory there is intense debate throughout the land as to whether the toilet roll should be hung so that it comes over top or under and down.
By using this dispenser the owner can decide if the roll will give its paper over or under. As if anyone really cares how they get their toilet paper.
Toilet landing lights
Some strange genius was obviously inspired when his plane came into land. As he saw the landing lights of the airport come into view he thought, “Ah this is what I need for my toilet.”
The lights are placed on the toilet to guide you when you need to go in the middle of the night. The fact that you have had to turn lights on to get to the bathroom seems to have not been considered by the inventor.
Also most people will turn on the light in the bathroom if they need to use the toilet in the night rather than do their business whilst being illuminated by the toilet.
Goatee shaver
This bizarre implement is aimed at the man with a goatee beard who is terrified that he might shave off a bit of his fashionable facial hair.
Most men with this style of beard do not need a bit of plastic wedged on their face to shave in the right place. They either have a bathroom mirror or a shaving mirror to guide their razor to the right place.
Even if they do stray into the hirsute area of their face the hair will grow back again.
Toothpaste dispenser
How complicated is it to take a tube of toothpaste and squeeze it until enough paste appears and to slide it on to your toothbrush.
Why do you need a gadget that you have to plug your toothpaste in to and press a button? If you visit a bathroom and you see that they have a toothpaste dispenser you immediately know that they have more money than sense.
So while mankind faces so many challenges it is nice to know that there are people out there who are inventing things that we really need.
