Anyone that has ever given a dog a bath will be well aware that animals and the bathroom don’t always mix.
Man’s best friend is not aware that you do not want him to shake the bath water all over you, the ceiling and the bathroom mirror. They do not always enjoy it and it can sometimes be an ordeal and the owner often ends up wetter than their beloved pet.
Cat on a hot tin loo
If you are interested in such a thing there are various videos on You Tube of cats that have been trained to go on the toilet.
This owner claims that her cat taught itself to do this but there are owners who deliberately try and teach their cats to use the loo.
It seems like an odd thing to do as cats are not the most pliable of animals and it is a lot simpler for them to disappear through the cat flap and do their business wherever they please.
There are cats that like water. The cat in the bath could be a Turkish Van breed of cat which is known as the swimming cat.
It is thought that because of the breed’s proximity to a large lake in Turkey it developed a waterproof coat and its fascination with water.
Lock the door
Pets don’t understand that there are times when their owners desire a little privacy.
It does not matter if their master or mistress is in the bath or on the toilet the curiosity of their animals often gets the better of them.
There are tales of cats that will sit on their owners lap when they have to go. Perhaps this is where that cat got the idea of using the toilet by watching its owner.
Some felines jump on the edge of the bath and inspect their owner’s attributes. If they are a van cat they may even take the plunge and enjoy a good soak themselves.
Danger
Although you are unlikely to come into contact with them in this country black widow spiders like to spin their webs below the toilet seat because insects fly around the loo.
Several people have been bitten while sitting on the toilet although the bites are rarely fatal it must come as a bit of a surprise.
Some people have reported rats emerging from the toilet nipping their behind as they come out from the lavatory.
It just goes to show that the bathroom is as alive as any other room in your house.
