The bathroom tap, you turn it on to fill your bath or basin. Then you turn it off. One could be forgiven for thinking that it is unimportant. But like a tap dancer taps have style.
Understandably, we take them for granted and forget about the humble tap. Yet a trendy tap or a flash faucet can really bring your bathroom to life.
They are, after all, the shiny part of your bathroom. They help to bounce light around the room and, of course, without the tap you would not be able to fill your lovely bath.
A sense of period
For those with a sense of nostalgia and a yearning to go back to the past you can get hold of old fashioned screw down taps. They are moulded in a traditional style and possess a kind of perennial glamour that new style taps simply don’t possess.
However, if your desire is for the modern you can go for sleek, modernistic designs in chrome. They will add creative curves to your bathroom and take it into the space age.
It all depends on the style of bathroom you have.
Off the wall taps
Of course, the design choice of bathroom taps is not limited to old and new style. There are all sorts of designs and various ways of mounting them in your bathroom.
For instance, you can have taps that are fixed into the wall. This may be useful if space is at a premium in your bathroom. If the basin has to be placed close to the wall, wall mounted taps will help not least because you won’t need a counter top.
The single lever tap
Who says two taps are better than one. Single lever taps in your en-suite or modern bathroom provide a simple, modern and effective dimension to the room. By operating the lever you can get the perfect temperature from just the one tap.
There are designs where, if you so desire, you could pretend to be a surgeon and control the tap with your elbows. It may take a bit of practice.
If you want to save water then you can always get some self closing taps. Ideal if the kids or an elderly relative have a habit of leaving the tap running or as a simple environmental measure.
You can also use these with your elbows if you so desire.
