Your tiny bathroom can be magic. Create a world of illusion by making your wet room appear bigger, better and more dynamic. Space may be limited but with a bit of imagination anything is possible.
You don’t need a TARDIS to perform this trick. Like a small man wearing raised heels to look taller your bathroom will just seem to be larger.
Whilst size isn’t everything and a baby sized bathroom can be cute you really want it to look big.
Make your bathroom light
Light colours on the walls will make the space appear larger. Go for white or light blues or pale yellows. Colours of that ilk will help to push the walls back.
The thought of an all white bathroom sounds slightly dull and you can add a dash of vibrant colour to the accessories to make it interesting. Try purple or even a light red if you want to make it stand out.
Choose a nice shade of white to stop your bathroom looking sterile. If you have a white bath, basin and toilet you need to make sure you create a room that is cool and inviting.
Use the space well
With only so much space to work with you need to maximise how each part of the bathroom is used. For instance, you need a place for storage but might not have the space for a separate unit.
The answer is to fit a vanity unit which combines a cabinet and basin all in one. They come in a range of styles and you can choose between contemporary or traditional designs. Or you could build a recessed cabinet within the wall of your bathroom.
It is important your bathroom is free from clutter. A tidy tiny bathroom will look bigger than an untidy one.
If there is not room for a separate shower enclosure then you can always fit a shower over the bath. With high quality bath shower mixer taps available you can have the best of both worlds in one space.
Light the room
A trick of the light can work wonders and it can fool the eye.
To get that feeling of openness into your bathroom get a big bathroom mirror to reflect natural light from a window and your little bathroom will seem big.
Reflect light all around the room, off mirrors, shiny bathroom taps and accessories to help create the illusion of space.
